Join in celebrating the Buddhist Holy Day by chanting Itipso 108 times (the virtues of the Buddha, Dhamma, Sangha) and Candle Procession.

Magha Puja, falls on the full moon of the 3rd lunar month and commemorates the great gathering of the Sangha, a rare occasion occuring only once in the Buddha’s dispensation.

Commemorate the day of Magha, also known as “Dhamma Day”, where the Buddha taught the Ovada-Patimokkha to 1,250 arahants who came without any prior notice.

The Ovada-Patimokkha teaches what is considered the heart of the Buddha’s teachings:

1. Avoid all evil
2. Cultivate the good
3. Purify the mind
